Frequently Asked Questions About In-Home Pet Euthanasia
How long does an in-home euthanasia appointment usually take?
Appointments typically last 30–60 minutes, depending on your family’s needs.
The medical portion itself usually takes around 15–20 minutes, but we always move at your pace — allowing time for your pet to settle, for quiet goodbyes, and for private moments together afterward.
Nothing is rushed.
Will my pet feel pain or anxiety during euthanasia?
No. Your pet is given gentle sedation first, allowing them to fully relax and drift into a deep, peaceful sleep.
Once they are completely comfortable and unaware, the final medication is administered.
Our veterinarians are trained in peaceful euthanasia, Fear Free care, and Reiki, ensuring your pet is supported with calm, compassion, and presence throughout the entire visit.
What happens if my pet passes away before you arrive?
We offer gentle transport to the crematory or burial location with care and reverence.
As a meaningful memorial, we also provide a complimentary framed paw print and nose print to honor and remember your pet.
Do you offer hospice or quality-of-life consultations?
Yes. We offer quality of life, palliative care, and hospice consultations, both virtually and in person.
These visits are designed to help you understand your pet’s comfort, needs, and options, with guidance tailored to your family and your pet, without pressure or urgency.
How quickly can you come for an at-home euthanasia appointment?
We do our best to accommodate same-day appointments whenever possible and will come as quickly as we can.
Availability can vary, but our priority is always supporting families during urgent and tender moments with timely, compassionate care.
If you’re facing an urgent situation, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Yes. We offer evening and weekend appointments, and we can often accommodate after-hours needs in urgent situations, depending on availability.
Our goal is to be present when families need support most.
What should we expect during an in-home euthanasia visit?
Our visits are calm, unhurried, and centred on comfort during in-home euthanasia.
Your pet is gently sedated first, allowing them to fully relax before the final medication is administered.
Families are welcome to be present throughout the entire visit, with time afterward for private goodbyes.
Can children be present during the appointment?
Yes. Children are welcome if it feels right for your family.
